Photography
Any photos of mine are available for print. If you’d like one printed, just contact me with the title of the photo and your desired dimensions for the print, and I’ll respond back with the time and price.
Some photos aren’t available for print simply because I’ve lost the original images in little hard drive accident I had a while back. Luckily, most photos are printable, and are denoted by the “Request Print” button above them.
Ya mind? Wed, Oct 18th 2006 3:37 pm
Another from the bird exhibit. Got this fella eating, and I guess he thought I was being pretty rude.
Actually, this shot was mostly luck, I’d say. I was trying to get the bird while eating, which I thought looked good enough. Then he pulled his […]
Mmm... Dismembered Head... Tue, Oct 17th 2006 10:06 am
Actually, I’ll pass. It looks a little over-cooked.
At first, this photo looked like a horrible tourist snapshot taken inside a poorly lit wax museum. However, thanks to the magic of Canon’s RAW format, I was able to turn it into something […]
Long Since Forgotten #2 Sun, Oct 15th 2006 11:34 am
Taken on the same day as the first in this two-part miniseries, these are the two wodden swings in Alyson’s backyard.
Yet Another Spider Sat, Oct 14th 2006 11:44 am
Ugh. Taken on the same night as Night Light, this disgusting spider was basking in the artificial light under the clock tower in the park.
I really need to start considering depth of field on these sorts of shots. The front legs are blurry, which […]
Nemo? Fri, Oct 13th 2006 7:45 pm
I took this photo of a seemingly-lost clownfish at Big Al’s Aquarium while Sean was shopping for a new creature to drop into his fish tank. He settled on a “Yappy Yabby Blue Lobster” which supposedly grows pretty big and pretty blue. It’s neither […]
Painting Fri, Sep 22nd 2006 12:47 pm
Back in July, I decided out of nowhere to paint my bedroom and re-stain its hardwood floor. I figured I could have the whole thing done in no more than two days. I have a habit of grossly underestimating the complexity of things.
Firstly, I […]
Lovey Dovey Thu, Sep 21st 2006 5:37 pm
More from the bird exhibit. These two lovebirds were on the ground in front of me (the birds weren’t in cages) so snapping this didn’t really take much effort. Guess they’re exhibitionists.
Library Wed, Sep 20th 2006 11:07 am
For such a small town, Bowmanville has a pretty nice library. It’s relatively new, I guess, but it’s the only building in town (that I’ve been in) with any architectural flare whatsoever.
I’ll probably go back for more. This is just the lobby, as […]
Cloaked in Blue Tue, Sep 19th 2006 11:48 am
From Niagara Falls. This parrot looked pretty badass, looking over his shoulder with his head down like that.
I’ve a few more from this bird exhibit that I’ll post sporadically over the next month or so.
Night Light Sun, Sep 17th 2006 10:21 am
I decided the other night that it’d be fun to walk around town in the dark, looking for interesting photos. This one was taken at a park near my old elementary school.
I’m finding that since I’ve un-zoomed my lens, there are many more photo […]
Blood River Fri, Sep 8th 2006 10:01 pm
A little fun with Photoshop on this one. Can you spot what I changed?
It doesn’t really look like blood, and I did that on purpose. I had it looking a lot like it, but went back to this bloody-water hybrid liquid; I liked the white peaks.
I took […]
Long Since Forgotten Tue, Aug 29th 2006 1:26 pm
I found this old toy car behind a toppled treehouse in Alyson’s backyard. I remember having one of these things when I was a kid, and I remember seeing my own car in the backyard of my own house, all neglected and dirty.
Looking at this, I feel […]
Niagara Falls Tue, Aug 8th 2006 11:27 pm
Our first leg of the trip, Niagara Falls, was sort of backwards to the second. That is, I arrived with high-hopes and it just started spiraling downhill from there. Our first stop was the butterfly safari, which was one of the things I was actually […]
Pleasantly Deceiving Fri, Aug 4th 2006 11:12 am
Well I’m back from vacation, and while some parts were as difficult to deal with as I’d expected, others were thankfully not.
I returned from the resort portion of the trip (the other being Niagara Falls) last night, and the first thing I did was […]
Question Mark Fri, Jul 28th 2006 10:59 am
This is apparently a “question mark” butterfly. Up until just now, I’d planned on calling this post “Monarch”, but then I decided to have a second look at it and realized that it quite obviously is not a Monarch butterfly.
According to this page […]
Blue Angels Wed, Jul 26th 2006 9:34 pm
I’m pretty sure the blue flame of a torch is refered as a “blue angel”. That’s what the light from these baseball lamps looks like in this long-exposure night shot. I’m quite pleased with the way this one turned out.
Canada Day, 2006 Tue, Jul 25th 2006 10:58 pm
I’d been preparing myself for weeks for our trip to the beach for Canada Day. Then we got there and the beach looked like this. Overcast skies turned to rain, and we left after only about an hour. This is the second year that Canada wrecked her own […]
Snake Light Sat, Jul 15th 2006 11:18 pm
When I was younger, I used to collect flashlights. Seriously. People actually gave me flashlights for my birthday or for Christmas. I got a small snake light once and thought it was the coolest thing. Then it broke. Or I lost it. I don’t really know […]
Twised Log Sat, Jul 8th 2006 10:32 pm
First of all, I’d like to say a big “F* YOU” to Firefox for locking the file to this image after uploading it timed out (files greater than ~6mb tend to do that, but I never realize how large they are until after I’ve tried). So I was hoping to […]
No I Don't Like Seagulls Thu, Jul 6th 2006 2:03 pm
This was taken at Alyson’s baseball game, too. The second one. Seagulls were all over the field and then someone whacked a ball right into their party and broke the whole thing up. I snapped this as they flew away.
On my way back to the bleachers I […]
Too Dangerous Tue, Jul 4th 2006 10:52 pm
Alyson’s first game on Monday night was cut short due to weather conditions. Evidently the threat of lightning was just too great to allow the game to continue. We’ve all heard stories about lightning bolts traveling dozens of kilometers to their […]
