Photography
Any photos of mine are available for print. If you’d like one printed, just contact me with the title of the photo and your desired dimensions for the print, and I’ll respond back with the time and price.
Some photos aren’t available for print simply because I’ve lost the original images in little hard drive accident I had a while back. Luckily, most photos are printable, and are denoted by the “Request Print” button above them.
More of the Same Tue, Jul 12th 2005 10:54 am
Same ladybug from the previous photo. Same leaf too, actually. I just carried it around on the leaf and held it against different backgrounds… Ha.
Return of the Ladybug Mon, Jul 11th 2005 4:26 pm
This ladybug was pulled from the pool. I thought it was dead, but as I posed its corpse beside a leaf, it sprung back to life. I figured nobody would know it was dead from the pictures, but it was nice to see it come back to life. It would’ve surely […]
Something Awful Happened Here Sun, Jul 10th 2005 11:17 am
Awful indeed. This is the scene I stumbled on while walking out to the garage one spring morning. Something (I’m guessing a cat…) attacked a baby rabbit (which I found a few meters away…) Sad. Didn’t eat the rabbit, either; just killed it.
Rusty Ring Sat, Jul 9th 2005 5:40 pm
This one’s getting posted solely because I like the colours of it. Compositionally speaking, I’d say it was pretty weak. I don’t know. Pretty colours.
Neko's Eye Tue, Jul 5th 2005 10:24 am
This shot was sort of inspired by the “Tyra’s Eye” photo from last year. Eyes are neat.
Water Bug #2 Mon, Jul 4th 2005 8:58 am
And #2. No vignetting this time. Second macro shot of an insect.
Water Bug #1 Sun, Jul 3rd 2005 7:26 pm
These annoying-but-cool water insects were found dwelling in the stagnant water of our pool this spring. This was my first macro shot of an insect.
Tulips After Rain Sat, Jul 2nd 2005 4:03 pm
I’m glad this one turned out. I’m not sure I’m glad the tulip in the foreground is blurred though. Hmm.
I had actually titled this one “Roses After Rain”, but after looking again I realized that those are clearly tulips. I’m on my way to being a […]
Discount Manicure Sat, Jul 2nd 2005 2:01 pm
Yeah, that’s gross. I know. Vanessa, Chris’s girlfriend, poses yet again with an insect on her hand. She’d been eating Ritz crackers I think.
This one’s a beetle. What kind of beetle? I’ve no idea. I can identify lady bugs, and that’s about it from […]
Don't... Move... Sun, Jun 19th 2005 7:47 am
I wish the butterfly would have landed in the palm of my brother’s girlfriend’s hand, but instead it chose the edge. Sometimes I’ll look at this and think it looks stupid, and others I think it’s pretty good.
Meh. It’s getting posted. Enjoy.
A Shell Sat, Jun 18th 2005 8:39 am
On a rock, no less.
Once again, I can’t explain why I like this photo. I’m not even sure I do. I don’t think it’s crap though, and that’s good enough to be posting it!
Nothing but slightly-better-than-crap for my visitors. You know I spoil you.
I'm just a stick... Nothing to see here. Thu, Jun 16th 2005 9:23 pm
Oh those wacky butterflies. Same one as in the last picture, only this is its underbelly. I can’t decide if it was trying to protect itself from me or just trying to insult my intelligence. I mean, I’d clearly just watched the thing land on that […]
Where's Waldo? Thu, Jun 16th 2005 9:18 pm
I love writing titles for these things; gives me a chance to sharpen my wit. Today’s was inspired by my noticing a subtle relation between the butterfly’s camouflage and that of the popular children’s book character “Waldo”. You see, one would have […]
I'm a Fun-gi! Tue, Jun 14th 2005 8:53 pm
I’ve returned from Long Sault, and I come bearing gifts. This was over a month ago, but whatever. I like the perspective/colours of this one. I’ve really not a lot to say about it. The others are better though… Oooh are they pretty.
Face Off Mon, Jun 13th 2005 4:32 pm
Tyra very much conforms to the dog stereotype. She barks at mailmen, chases squirrels, and tries to “play with” our cats. Pinkle, the bad-ass, is actually more afraid of her than Neko. Maybe Neko’s just too stupid to realise what Tyra could do to […]
Boneyard Sun, Jun 12th 2005 1:59 pm
Taken in early spring when the snow was mostly melted away. These are the remains of Tyra’s bones since the first snowfall to the last. Apparently she doesn’t like to finish them…
It was rather grotesque. That many bones in one place made it look […]
Another Not-a-Pigeon Sat, Jun 11th 2005 6:28 pm
Actually I think we’ve established the true identity of this particular breed of bird: a dove. This picture’s old as hell, but that’s what happens when I start pulling from the back of the queue. I was going to hold off posting these until version 3 […]
Neko on the Porch Sat, Apr 16th 2005 6:42 pm
Yeah, nothing vague about that title. This is Neko on our front porch. I like this for the brightness and the detail in the old wood. That may or may not be visible after my site has resized the image, but it should be slightly.
I’ve ordered some […]
Gotcha! Thu, Apr 14th 2005 10:59 am
I finally captured a postable photo of a blue jay. I have many others, but they were ruined by branches and fences. Even this one’s sort of blurry and very noisy at high resolutions, but it looks decent at this size.
Flower shots soon, I hope.
Chickadee? Sun, Apr 10th 2005 9:45 pm
A “chickadee” is the only bird of this size that I would have any chance of identifying. I know they’re brown, black, and white (which this bird is) so I’m going to assume that’s what this is. I don’t think the name is that important, as my “style” […]
Exposure: set. Focus: set. ISO: set. Subject: Er, gone. Sat, Apr 9th 2005 7:41 am
I really need to work on my speed at setting up my camera. This is a shot of my escaping subject after it had apparently lost interest. My Canon zoom lens seems to have troubles with autofocus, so I have to use the manual sort like it’s the 1900’s. […]
