After visiting the Lakeshore area today at lunch, I had an irrepressible urge to return to it with my camera. I couldn’t spot any good shots while I was there, which in itself got me thinking that it’d been way too long since I’d looked through a lens.
As soon as I finished my dinner, I packed my gear into the car and headed down to the lake. This is one of the many shots I took while I was down there.
The people on the hill were, I think, a vacationing Asian family. The father was walking around with a point-and-shoot camera taking photos of his wife and children in front of just about every landmark in the area. While I was carefully planning shots of trees, boats, birds, and scenes like this one, he was quickly shooting snapshots of his kids in front of busy backgrounds. Yet he and I seemed just as rewarded when we looked at our viewfinders.
My point: photography is awesome, and I’m going to try to do a lot more of it in the coming months.

Wow, this looks like an image for an add of a gated upper middle class community.

Ha. And even more-so before I got crazy with the clone brushes; there was a van and an SUV parked on either side of that lower-left garbage bin.
