Taken at the zoo in Orono. This ‘coon was in a tiny cage with wires spaced well enough that we could pass him sticks and pine cones to play with. We were also able to walk right up to the cage, so I shook his paw a few times.

Raccoons are, apparently, quite gentle when domesticated. Shame he’s stuck in a cage.

Thats so sad…I hate to see caged animals, especially when they have the look of “kill me now i’m so miserable”.

Why do zoos need to put raccoons in cages, why not look out side at your garbage. Thats like caging a squirrel…:S

I agree with Bird, but I guess the city folk might think of them as an exotic animal. I should take out my camera on my drive to work, Most mornings I see at least 10 deer and a few coons, and sometimes a little fox who walks up and down the road on a regular basis. Good to see your actually still running this site of yours. sticking out tongue
