Fireworks » Sun, Jul 2nd 2006 11:26 am

The beach is probably my least favourite place to be. Bugs, dirt, sand, sun, heat, sunscreen, bad food… All things I despise. Yet I go there at least once a year because I figure it’s either good for me or, at the very least, coming home and showering is a reminder of how sweet it is to be clean.

We spent yersterday afternoon at the beach waiting for fireworks. It began to rain and we saw no signs of it letting up, so we left. I’d brough my camera in hopes that the pictures would’ve made the trip worthwhile, but instead it was just one more thing to haul back on the 30-minute barefoot walk to the car.

When we were home and I’d showered, the city’s fireworks display began and it was just visible from our street, though some were half-hidden by a line of trees. I got two decent photos (focusing at night proved more difficult than I’d anticipated) and here’s one of them.
