Frigid » Tue, Dec 28th 2004 10:17 am

That’s right. Frigid. It was f*ing cold. -25 degrees Celsius, and then the wind chill factor. And what a factor it was. Were it not for my sunglasses, the tears in my eyes would’ve frozen them shut.

And apparently the cold has a devastating effect on my camera’s otherwise unstoppable battery; its life was cut to about 25%. Though once it warmed up, it was back to its usual self.

Hehe…I’m warm and toasty over here in california…it hasn’t been below 45 degrees fahrenheit yet—we don’t get snow though sad face nice shot.

This is a nice photo. I like it for the trail fading off in the distance, for all the trees that fill up the frame, and for the coldness of the shot. I think I can see my breath when I breathe toward the screen! I love shots like this. Very well done.

Glad you liked it. The cold look was achieved by the “incandescent light” white balance setting which adds blue to a picture to negate the otherwise golden colour of yellow lights. Do it on snow in the sunlight, and you get instant freezing.
