Technically, this photo could serve as evidence of my trespassing on this farmer’s field, but I HAD TO.

This guy was perched atop a bale of hay about 100 feet into the field, so I slowly made my way to it, begging him to stay put while I kept my eyes peeled for angry, gun-toting farmers.

This shot was taken with my camera on the ground and my face buried in dirt and hay while I tried to get an eye to the viewfinder. Success!

Why were you down in the dirt and hay? Not enough light for handheld?

I wanted the “down low” perspective, and I was trying to stay hidden. Heh.

Ah, right on. Well it worked! I like it!

Just a side note: the “notify me” didn’t work. I didn’t recive the email with your reply.

i really really like the vignetting and the way you chose to level the top of the “roll” instead of the horizon is great. awesome photo.

You probably don’t remember me. bleh I commented a while back about some javascript code, and about a picture of a swingset. Anyways, REALLY cool picture. This would make a great website header. Really, the haybell has a “fake” effect. But that’s awesome in a way. How did you do that? Did you edit it any?

Howdy “Nehm4”. I do remember you, yes. Questioned the contrast on the swing photo, I think? I could probably just go read it, but meh. Haha.

Anyway, this photo’s a single-exposure HDR. Basically, the RAW file was used to create multiple “pseudo exposures” of the scene, and then those exposures were merged into what you see here, sort of. I did do some editing in Photoshop. Sharpening, some colour adjustments, and the vignetting.

Feel free to leave some kind of feedback or pose a question. Most links will be parsed on their own, so you can avoid writing <a> tags. I’ve even taken measures to ensure that long links don’t fubar the page layout. Also, you can get fancy with Markdown syntax if you want.

The e-mail address is required to ID you. I’ll keep it secret. I pinky promise.
