I took this for use as a profile picture on Facebook and MSN. I never really intended to post it here, but it turned out pretty well and I think I’d like it archived.
The shot is a composition of three exposures into one HDR photo, which explains the sort of glowing look and seemingly-flawless exposure. I touched up some wonky shadows in Photoshop, but left everything else as-is, including the zit on the right side of my face. I did dodge my eyes (one quick stroke over each) and then had to fix the colours a little afterwards. Other than that, this is me.
The photo is horizontally backwards, too; a side-effect of pointing your lens at a mirror. I was going to correct it, but didn’t for two reasons. Firstly, I liked that it was sort of “flawed” in that way. Way back when, I figure they wouldn’t be able to correct that sort of thing either. The photo looks old, and having it flipped adds to the realism of my phoney effect. Secondly, I like the lean the left more than the right.
I’m starting to wonder if maybe I’d be happier doing this photography thing than web design. I think I can go either way when I’m done with my Graphic Design program, but I’m going to talk to people and see. I’ll always be doing both, I think, but photography feels more rewarding. At least it does right now, anyway.

Haha. I reckon you’ve the wrong “Aaron Wright”. I was a bit heavier than I am now, but I wasn’t “tubby”!
