Trust me, It's Better » Fri, Oct 13th 2006 7:08 pm

I rewrote the backend to offtone.com. I don’t think there’s a single bit of source that matches the old version anymore. That’s a good thing.

Anyway, I won’t bore you with the details because they obviously weren’t aesthetic and you, the user, probably won’t care about my caching method or content management system. You might care, however, that photos are now larger (well, the tall ones are) and that I’ve axed the calendar from the sidebar.

Photos are bigger simply because I wanted them to be. The calendar, on the other hand, seemed purposeless. Google told me that nobody used it anyway, so I cut it out to save vertical space. Perhaps I’ll add it back someday after I’ve “AJAXed” it.

I’ll post a photo now, as I’m sure you’re fighting to stay awake.

I used the calendar as a visual to view how often you were posting and when you last posted. I didn’t necessarily click on it, but I did use it. sticking out tongue

Heh. I might just draw an “activity graph” on the sidebar instead. Would take up less space, and it’d illustrate the activity a little better, too.

Feel free to leave some kind of feedback or pose a question. Most links will be parsed on their own, so you can avoid writing <a> tags. I’ve even taken measures to ensure that long links don’t fubar the page layout. Also, you can get fancy with Markdown syntax if you want.

The e-mail address is required to ID you. I’ll keep it secret. I pinky promise.
